Tent Care
We will not be setting up our own tents. Girl Scout camps have platform tents for troop use.
When we arrive at a campsite, we should find the tents with flaps tied closed.
- Untie the flaps and roll them up -- to the INSIDE of the tent.
Rolling to the inside will prevent the flaps catching leaves, bugs, and water.
- Never write on tent walls
- Never tape or pin things on tent walls
- Do not hang things from the ropes holding up the tent
- Never spray anything inside a tent (no bugspray, no sunscreen)
- If it rains, do not touch the roof or sides of the tent, this will cause it to leak
- Never take any food into tents -- it attracts animals
- Leave the tent swept clean, with canvas flaps down and tied
