Puzzle of the Week for 1 February 1999: Hints

Although the six parts of this puzzle sound similar, the solutions are quite varied. The pieces you end up with don't have to be regular polygons.

Here are some ideas for each part of the puzzle:

  1. rectangles
  2. triangles
  3. trapezoids (are there others?)
  4. several different ways (triangles, trapezoids, diamonds -- can you find others?)
  5. non-convex polygons (shapes with indentations)
  6. triangles

If you get stuck on one part, try another one!
